Locks

Make sure your bike comes home with you. In many scenarios such as long bike tours, going to school or even running errands, bikes can quickly and inexplicably disappear due to theft. The culprit is often far off with a new bike in hand and the owner is now left without wheels. This need not be the case if your bike is well equipped with the right bike lock. Locks come in many styles such as U-locks, chain locks, cable locks, mortise locks and folding locks. Every bike lock has various features and security levels. For example, a steel chain lock or padlock should be used at a train station for maximum security where as a simple cable lock is sufficient for a trip inside the supermarket. For people who constantly lose keys a combination lock is a great solution. Unfortunately, no theft is completely preventable, however, a locked up bike is a safer bike and without a bike lock a bike can disappear faster than you think.
